Eligible contributors include individuals who are residents of Ontario and corporations that carry on a business in Ontario. There is a contribution limit of $750 to any one candidate and the maximum total amount a contributor may contribute to candidates in the same jurisdiction is $5,000. All contributions are in Canadian funds.
An official receipt will be issued in the name of the contributor. Under the terms of the Municipal Elections Act, contributions cannot be refunded unless the official receipt is returned to the address supplied on the receipt.
